The Rollei 35S, an upgrade from the popular Rollei 35, was manufactured between 1974 and 1980. This model maintains the standout features of the original, but introduces a new 40mm f/2.8 Sonnar lens, lending the 'S' to the camera's name. This compact 35mm viewfinder camera offers full manual control, including mechanical shutter and aperture control, and manual focus. It also includes a built-in, coupled CdS light meter with a readout on top of the camera.
Its uniqueness lies in the collapsible Rollei HFT 40mm f2.8 Sonnar lens - allowing an already small camera to become even more compact when it needs to be slipped into a pocket between photos. Despite its compact size, the Rollei 35S never compromises on image quality, making it a favorite among photography enthusiasts.
This is the 60th anniversary edition of the 35 S. It is one of 1500 produced, this one numbered "0429". The camera is 24k gold plated and is skinned in a brown snakeskin leatherette. The camera comes in its velvet-lined wooden box with a snakeskin case, cap, manual, and certificate.
